Are you practicing Kendo? Do you feel your Tenugui (Men-towel) is too small when you put it on your head?
My husband is a really big guy (probably as big as Benkei). so his head. a Regular Tenugui size doesn`t help his head. He was so frustrated when he tried a Tenugui
that he got fromi a local Kendo-gu
store for free. Plus, that Tenugui
had "oooo junior Kendo Club"
written on it!!! It`s good idea to check what Japanese word says on things.
So, he asked for me to make a
large sized Tenugui.I bought 1.5yard
of fabric with green, which is very
similar to a Japanese traditional green.
Then, I cut it out 6 inches longer
than a regular Tenugui. My daughter
chose her favorite Kamon-symbol,
and stenciled with gold ink.
This is called "Mitsudomoe"which
you would see it as Japanese Hachiman Shinto symbol.
